Rev, Terry Coldwell

Terry Coldwell– is our Pastor Emeritus at Hantsport Baptist Church. Terry and his wife Mary Lee started attending Hantsport Baptist in 1980 when they were transferred to Nova Scotia via the military. He served as Sunday Superintendent, taught the Jr. Teen Sunday Class and served on the Deacon’s Board. Also, During this time Terry and Mary Lee directed several Jr. Teen camps at Kingswood Camp with lots of assistance from the many volunteers from Hantsport Baptist Church.

The more Terry became involved in serving the Lord, the more he started to feel the call to full time ministry. When he was posted to the new Military Family Support Centre in Halifax, to support Navy members and their families, Terry was convinced that he wanted to continue serving the Lord he needed to be better equipped. So, Terry started to attend Acadia Divinity College under the Mature Student Program and graduated with a Certificate of Ministries Studies in 1993. Terry was then Ordained in 1994 and served as Interim Pastor in several valley churches until he was forced to retire due to health problems.

Since his retirement, in 2002, Terry has been involved in the following ministries at Hantsport Baptist Church, leading the Men’s Prayer Group, serving on the Board of Trustees, and serving on the Hantsport Baptist Church visitation committee. In addition, Terry serves as the Branch Chaplain of the #009 Hants County Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, and is responsible for conducting Legion Tribute Services (funerals) and other Clergy duties as required. Terry also conducts hospital and nursing home visits for the veterans as required. He enjoys doing visitations and spending time with the Veterans.
